Building deals that fit the client: how IGF Group uses flexibility and data in receivables finance

28 October 2026 • 3 min read

Independent factors win business by structuring finance around the client in front of them. That only works if their receivables finance platform can support deals that don’t come out of a box, and if the data coming back out of it can be trusted for reporting and risk decisions.

At Lendscape Live 2026, Mark Cobb, Business Systems Manager at IGF Group, talked about how Lendscape has supported IGF’s growth and what better data has changed for the business.

How has Lendscape supported IGF’s growth?

Through flexibility. As a independent factor, Mark explained, IGF shapes each deal around the client’s needs rather than a fixed product menu: “We need to make deals that fit the client, not the system fitting the client.”

That often means structures that aren’t standard. Mark described what IGF needs from its platform as “the ability to actually create deals that we want to sell, not what the system is trying to make us sell.”

How has better data changed IGF’s business?

IGF can now see everything that goes into its system come back out. Mark called the company’s data flow “exceptional”, and said that visibility now supports management reporting, a better-informed risk appetite, and an easier working day for the team.

His summary: “Data is king and that’s the way we’re going.”

What should an independent factor look for in a receivables finance platform?

IGF’s experience points to two things that depend on each other. The platform has to support non-standard deal structures, and it has to record those deals in a way the business can report on. Bespoke deals are only manageable as a book grows if the data behind them is complete and visible.

Lendscape Receivables Finance is configured through funding modules, including factoring, invoice discounting and asset based lending, so lenders can build the facilities their clients need on one platform.
