I started out as an accountant in finance technology and went back to university where I got a PhD in AI and Automated Reasoning from Imperial College, London. My research group was investigating computer-generated art, poetry and music well before it became mainstream! I was recently CTO of a successful startup. We built a greenfield challenger-bank and wrote a decision support engine that is being used to manage billion-pound portfolios.
I joined Lendscape as a Principal Developer in May 2023. I was curious to get another perspective inside a mature technology company. Our products are key to the business of a large number of organisations with huge amounts of data. We support them in many versions and configurations and we’re constantly evolving the technology that underpins them, some of which dates back many years. It’s a delicate and challenging process, so we need to be pro-active and support or champion initiatives wherever we can.
My role is interesting and varied, going well beyond day-to-day development work and I’m very fortunate to be part of a fantastic team of talented and experienced technologists in a great work environment which involves a mix of DevOps, Security, Architecture, Monitoring, UX, Migration, Tooling and much more.
